Biography

Elodie Townsend (she/her) is a poet from San Francisco. Her work aims to capture the surreal malaise of urban and suburban landscapes and has been described as toeing the line between brash absurdism and extreme realism.

Elodie earned her M.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University, and her B.A. in English Literature from The University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was presented the Roselyn Schneider Award for Fiction. She also studied at Smith College (where she played two seasons of DIII NCAA softball) and the College of Marin.

In addition to her solo creative work, Elodie has contributed writing and editing to the video game Seekers of Skyveil from developer Elodie Games (no relation). She currently works as an Auction Specialist at Cars & Bids, and is a regular contributor to the watch news site, Worn & Wound.

She lives in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood and enjoys wrenching on her 1996 Geo Tracker, playing with her chihuahua mix, Tilly, and rooting for the Giants, Sharks, and Tottenham Hotspur.
